Have Your Say on Recycling across Warren Shire
Warren Shire Council 2026 Recycling Survey aims to better understand how residents currently manage recycling, what options are working well and whether additional recycling services should be considered in the future.
No decisions have been made. This survey is about gathering community feedback before Council considers any potential changes.
Why is Council conducting this survey?
Previous community feedback showed:
Many residents already recycle, often travelling to other towns.
There is strong interest in recycling across the Shire.
Views are mixed when it comes to introducing a fortnightly kerbside recycling service with an additional cost.
This survey takes a broader look at recycling behaviours, access to facilities such as Return and Earn and community preferences for different service options.
What will the survey ask?
The survey includes questions about:
How you currently recycle
Access to recycling facilities
Preferences for possible recycling options
What matters most when balancing cost, convenience and environmental outcomes
The survey takes approximately 6–8 minutes to complete and is anonymous.
Who should complete the survey?
Council is seeking feedback from residents in the townships of Warren, Nevertire and Collie, as well as those living on rural residential and farming properties across the Shire.
Recycling access and needs can differ between town and rural areas and Council encourages participation from a broad cross-section of the community.
What recycling options are being explored?
The survey seeks feedback on a range of possible options, including:
Fortnightly kerbside recycling collection
Improved local Return and Earn access
Charity and sports club recycling collection days
Maintaining current arrangements
Inclusion of these options in the survey does not mean they will be implemented. Any future service changes would require further assessment and consideration.
When does the survey close?
The survey opens Friday 13 March 2026 and closes Tuesday 7 April 2026.
