Older residents, people with a disability and those with limited mobility will have improved access to the Warren Cenotaph for this year’s Remembrance Day service, following completion of accessibility upgrades.

Warren Shire Council has completed the Warren Great War Memorial Cenotaph Accessibility Upgrade ahead of Remembrance Day commemorations next Wednesday, 11 November 2026.

The vital works focused on improving equitable access, safety and functionality throughout the precinct, helping more members of the community take part in local commemorative services.

Mayor Greg Whiteley said the Cenotaph was a place where the community can come together.

“The Cenotaph means a great deal to our community,” Mayor Whiteley said.

“These improvements will make it easier for people to pay their respects, whether they’re joining us for Remembrance Day or visiting quietly at another time of year.

“It’s important that people of all ages and abilities can come here to remember now and in the future,” he said.

The project was supported by the Community War Memorials Fund and a co-contribution from Warren Shire Council.

Council invites community members to attend the Remembrance Day service at the Warren Cenotaph in Macquarie Park on Wednesday, 11 November 2026. Please arrive by 10:45 am for the ceremony commencing at 11:00 am.
