Watching Warren Shire come together for Dusty’s Last Lap reminded me why I’m proud to call this community home. Dusty put in the hard yards for Little Wings and country kids, and it was good to see so many people get behind him.

We also celebrated our first kerbside recycling collection on 7 November 2026. After months of work behind the scenes putting the yellow-lid bin out each fortnight is now part of life across Warren, Nevertire and Collie. It’s great to see so many locals already taking part in The Good Sort and making use of a service our community asked for. If you haven’t put yours out yet, join the next collection on 4 November!

Water security remains firmly on Council’s agenda. Anyone who has lived and worked through drought knows how much a reliable supply matters. As the Macquarie–Wambuul Water Security Project progresses, I’ll continue to make sure the needs of Warren Shire and our downstream communities remain part of the discussion.

I look forward to seeing you at the Warren Cenotaph on Wednesday 11 November 2026 for Remembrance Day, as we pause to honour those who served and sacrificed. Please arrive by 10:45 am for the 11:00 am service.

December 2026 will bring a couple more chances to catch up, with our Community Christmas Party at Carter Oval Youth Sports Precinct on Friday 4 December 2026 and the Levee Rehabilitation Project Closing celebration on Friday 11 December 2026. Put them in your diary — I look forward to seeing you there.

Greg Whiteley, Mayor
