Media Release: Yellow-Lid Recycling Bin Deliveries Begin This Week
07 September 2026
An easier way to recycle is arriving across Warren Shire this week, with deliveries of new yellow-lid recycling bins commencing this Friday 11 September 2026 for eligible households and businesses across Warren, Collie and Nevertire.
The Council-owned bins are being delivered ahead of the launch of Warren Shire's first-ever kerbside recycling service which commences on Wednesday 7 October 2026.
Bin deliveries will continue throughout September.
Mayor Greg Whiteley said he knew many residents had been looking forward to the new service.
"We know many of our residents are already going to great efforts to recycle. Many are travelling considerable distances to do so. The new service brings recycling much closer to home and makes life a little easier for local households and businesses. I'm excited to see it roll out across the Shire,” he said.
Council is encouraging residents to take a few minutes to familiarise themselves with the new service before their first collection.
What Residents Need to Know
- Yellow-lid recycling bin deliveries commence from Friday 11 September 2026.
- Each eligible property will receive a new 240-litre Council-owned yellow-lid recycling bin, Good Sort Guide and Collection Calendar.
- Deliveries will take place over several weeks, so bins may arrive at different times to friends, family and other properties across the Shire.
- The first fortnightly kerbside recycling collection takes place on Wednesday 7 October 2026.
- Please wait until the night before Wednesday 7 October before placing your yellow-lid recycling bin out for collection.
If your property is eligible for the new kerbside recycling service and you haven't received your yellow-lid recycling bin by Monday 28 September 2026, please contact Warren Shire Council on 02 6847 6600.
Mayor Whiteley said learning how to use the new service correctly from the beginning would help set the community up for recycling success.
"Receiving your new recycling bin is just the beginning. By taking a few minutes to learn what belongs in your yellow-lid recycling bin will help everyone get off to a great start when collections begin in October."
Every Good Sort Starts Here.
Residents can visit Council’s website to learn more about the new service and get ready for kerbside recycling.
