Warren CBD Upgrade Masterplan Open to Feedback
28 August 2023
Following the development of a 10-year Draft Masterplan for the Warren CBD, Warren Shire Council is commencing a community engagement plan for Stage 2 of the upgrade to seek feedback from residents, business owners and stakeholders.
As part of the community engagement process, Council is inviting residents to have their say on the Draft Masterplan via an online survey.
Suggested Stage 2 priorities include Thornton Avenue parking areas and link walk, roundabout beautification, directional vehicle signage, street tree underplanting and raised garden planting, installation of new furniture such as seating and bins, and screening of the Sewerage Pump Station.
Mayor of Warren Shire, Councillor Milton Quigley, says the proposed upgrades will bring a new life to the already busy Warren commercial hub.
“As the home to so many of our local businesses, we want to make sure that we’re always upgrading infrastructure and facilities within the CBD to create the best experience possible for the community.
“With construction of the CBD amenities and Dubbo Street asphalt overlay works already completed, we want to continue to build on these improvements within the coming years,” says Mayor Quigley.
Council’s General Manager, Gary Woodman, says community participation is highly valued, and all feedback is taken into consideration during the decision-making process.
“Community engagement is a priority for Council, especially when undertaking long-term or large-scale projects like the Warren CBD upgrade.
“We like to ensure that we have input from the community to inform Council of their priorities and ideas as the predominant users of the facilities being upgraded.
“The consultation period is now open and we strongly encourage all residents to review the Draft Masterplan and have their say on the proposed upgrades,” adds Mr Woodman.
The Draft Masterplan can be viewed at Warren CBD Upgrades, with the online survey available for completion until 4pm, Friday 22 September 2023.
