Warren Levee Rehabilitation

Following the 2016 flood and subsequent droughts, the Warren Levee has been impacted by severe slumping of the riverbank. Despite continued maintenance, Council has continued to advocate for substantial funding to ensure rehabilitation work can take place.

Through funding from Resilience NSW, Council has already completed emergency temporary work by installing 1,200 tonnes of Mt Foster Quarry rock.

Council has also submitted an application to the Commonwealth National Flood Mitigation Infrastructure Program for $7.1M to complete the required levee rehabilitation works and will be meeting with the NSW Minister for Emergency Services and Resilience, The Hon. Steph Cooke MP, to request the NSW Government’s assistance with its 25% contribution.
