Sewage test clear of COVID-19 in Warren
07 September 2021
Sewage tests for Warren on 2 September have returned a negative result, showing no detection of COVID-19.
Warren Shire Mayor, Councillor Milton Quigley, says while this is a great result, it is important to remain vigilant and get tested no matter how mild the symptom.
“The sewage testing is a useful early warning system however one of the best ways to keep our community safe is to get tested if you have any symptoms. Symptoms include fever, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, runny nose, loss of taste, loss of smell or fatigue.
“With COVID-19 testing facilities available by appointment at the Warren Multi-Purpose Health Service between 2.00pm - 3.00pm from Monday to Friday, we are asking anyone who is experiencing symptoms to please get themselves tested as soon as possible and follow the advice from NSW Health. You can book an appointment to get tested by phoning 02 6847 5400,” says Mayor Quigley.
The Warren Shire’s response to the COVID-19 outbreak in Western NSW has been a testament to the community with one of the highest testing and vaccination rates in the region.
“I thank you for the work you have been doing to date to keep our community safe. We need to continue these efforts by complying with the stay-at-home orders, wearing a mask and practicing sanitisation, and if you haven’t already, getting vaccinated
“NSW Health will continue monitoring the Warren sewage and will notify the community if there is a positive test result. The absence of any further announcement from NSW Health regarding the sewage testing for Warren should be considered as a good situation as we continue to work together to keep our community safe,” added Mayor Quigley.
