Media Release: Save the Dates: Warren Shire's Kerbside Recycling Service Starts Wednesday 7 October 2026
19 August 2026
Warren Shire residents are just weeks away from an easier way to recycle as Council prepares to roll out a new kerbside recycling service on Wednesday 7 October 2026.
The new service will provide eligible households and businesses across Warren, Collie and Nevertire with a convenient way to recycle more everyday household items from home or work.
The first Council-owned yellow-lid recycling bins have arrived at Council’s Works Depot and are being prepared for delivery to eligible properties from Friday 11 September 2026.
Mayor Greg Whiteley said the new service is an important step towards a cleaner and more sustainable Warren Shire.
"This is about making recycling easier for our community while protecting an important local asset. Every item recycled correctly will help recover valuable materials, reduce the amount of waste sent to the Ewenmar Waste Depot and extend its operational life for years to come,” Mayor Whiteley said.
Council is encouraging residents to mark the following dates in their diary as preparations continue for the new service.
Friday 11 September 2026
Yellow-lid recycling bin deliveries commence
Eligible households and businesses will begin receiving their new Council-owned 240L yellow-lid recycling bins.
Wednesday 7 October 2026
Kerbside recycling collections begin
The first fortnightly kerbside recycling collection takes place for eligible properties across Warren Shire (Warren, Collie and Nevertire).
Over the coming weeks, Council will provide more information to help residents prepare for the new service, including collection information, recycling guides and practical tips on what can and can't be recycled.
A dedicated Kerbside Recycling Hub will also launch shortly with everything residents need to know in one convenient place.
