🚧 The Oxley Highway between Warren and Gilgandra remains CLOSED to all vehicles between Warren and the RR202 Marthaguy Road intersection, approximately 4km from Warren, due to flooding and road pavement damage. This closure is manned 24 hours a day to ensure the safety of all motorists.
It is anticipated this closure will be in place for some time, with deep, fast-flowing water over some sections of the highway, severely damaged road pavement and additional rain expected in the coming week.
🚧 Water has subsided on the Oxley Highway from Warren to Nevertire between Sandy Creek and “Auscott”, approximately 10km from Warren. There has been no damage sustained to this section of the highway, however, motorists are still requested to proceed with caution.
🚧 Water has also subsided on the Oxley Highway just out of Warren in the 80km/h zone near the Warren Golf Club and Western Farm Machinery, with no damage sustained to the road pavement.
With further rainfall forecast this week, Council reminds the community to be mindful of changes to road conditions and proceed with caution on all Shire roads.
Both Transport for NSW and Warren Shire Council are committed to maintaining access wherever possible, implementing measures to keep the highway open to appropriate traffic for as long as this remains safe.
Some sections of the highway between Warren and the RR202 Marthaguy Road intersection (approximately 4km from Warren) have suffered significant damage due to being inundated with floodwater over a prolonged period. Crews will be deployed as soon as floodwaters recede to inspect the damage and reopen the closed section of highway as soon as it is safe to do so.
Where pavement repairs are required, Transport for NSW and Warren Shire Council will maintain access to the network wherever feasible.
