Warren Shire Council is calling on the community to recognise the people who help make the region what it is, with nominations now open for the 2027 Australia Day Awards.

Each year, the Awards celebrate individuals, groups and businesses who contribute to the strength and character of the Warren Shire community.

Mayor Greg Whiteley said the Australia Day Awards are about recognising the people behind the community.

“Warren Shire is what it is because of its people,” Mayor Whiteley said.

“Across the Shire, there are people who consistently show up, give back and help make the place we all call home better.

“These Awards are a chance to say thank you and recognise the role they play in our community.”

Awards will be presented across a range of categories, including:

  •  Citizen of the Year
  •  Young Citizen of the Year
  •  Community Service
  •  Sportsperson or Sporting Organisation of the Year
  •  Young Sportsperson or Sporting Organisation of the Year
  •  Community Event of the Year
  •  Young Achiever of the Year
  •  Business House of the Year

Community members are encouraged to nominate individuals, groups or businesses who have made a meaningful contribution to Warren Shire.
