04 June 2024
A little over a month ago, we were happy to welcome Prasant Sharma to the Warren Shire Council team as our new Asset Technical Officer - Roads.
Let’s learn a little more about Prasant and hear what he's loving about his new role so far.
Welcome to the Council team, Prasant! How long have you been with Council now, and what led you to apply for your current role?
I have been working with Warren Shire Council for a month and a half, and my interest in working in the roads sector led me to this role.
What's your favourite part of your job so far?
My favourite part of my job is going around all of the different roads in the Shire and performing safety inspections.
What does a usual day look like in your role?
A usual day is comprised of site inspections, documentations, report preparation and team meetings.
What is one superpower you wish you had?
I would choose a superpower that would allow me to go 'fast forward' in time! I would love to know the outcome of certain projects to fix issues before we encounter them.
What is your idea of a perfect day?
A perfect day is one that involves personal growth, fun and happiness.
Tell us the best piece of advice you have ever been given, either personally or professionally.
“The world is full of knowledge, so grab it from everywhere you are able to.”
What is something people might not know about you?
Well, something most people don't know about me is that I used to be a competitive chess player in high school. It taught me a lot about strategy and critical thinking.
What do you enjoy most about calling Warren Shire home?
The warm, welcoming people and the peaceful environment are the things that I enjoy most.
