Warren Shire Council is progressing with the next stage of its Integrated Planning and Reporting (IP+R) process, which will ensure a structured and strategic approach to planning for the Shire’s future. This essential process involves developing the Four-Year Delivery Program (2025/2026 – 2028/2029), and the Annual Operational Plan.
At the December Council meeting, the Strategic Plan was approved, marking the first step in shaping the Shire’s direction. Council is now preparing the Delivery Program and Operational Plan, which will guide service delivery and financial management over the next four years. These plans will be reviewed by Councillors in a workshop in March, with a draft set to be presented to Council on April 24 for approval before public exhibition.
“Planning and budgeting are crucial to ensuring the best use of our resources. Community members and Councillors alike play a vital role in determining how rates and funding are allocated to support the Shire’s future,” said Warren Shire Council Mayor, Councillor Greg Whiteley.
Following Council’s approval, the draft plans will be placed on public exhibition for 28 days in late April and May, giving residents the opportunity to review and provide feedback. The final adoption is scheduled for June.
“I encourage all residents to take the time to review the plans when they are exhibited and share their thoughts through the formal feedback process,” Councillor Whiteley added.
The IP+R framework ensures that Council’s planning aligns with the needs and expectations of the community while considering financial constraints and available grant funding for capital works.
