Media Release: Have Your Say on the Future of Recycling in Warren Shire
13 March 2026
Warren Shire residents are being invited to help shape the future of recycling services, with Warren Shire Council launching its Recycling Services Survey today.
The survey will help Council understand how residents currently manage recycling across the Shire and what options may best suit the community in the future.
Mayor Greg Whiteley said it was important to hear from residents living in the townships of Warren, Nevertire and Collie, as well as rural households, so Council can understand what recycling options would work best across the Shire.
The survey includes questions about current recycling habits, access to facilities such as Return and Earn, travel to recycling services and community priorities when balancing cost, convenience and environmental outcomes.
Mayor Whiteley said many residents were already making an effort to recycle, often travelling significant distances to do so.
“We know some people are already finding their own ways to recycle, whether that’s using Return and Earn or travelling to other towns like Dubbo to access recycling facilities.
“This survey will help us gain a clearer picture of how people are currently managing recycling and what improvements they would like to see.”
“We really want to hear what the community has to say. It’s an opportunity for them to help shape the future of recycling in Warren Shire,” the Mayor said.
The survey takes approximately 6-8 minutes to complete.
Residents can complete the survey online at:

Hard copies are available at Warren Shire Council Administration Office and Warren Shire Library.
The survey opens Friday 13 March 2026 and closes Tuesday 7 April 2026.
