From the Mayor's Desk: September 2025
08 September 2025

It’s hard to believe a year has already passed since this Council was elected. Looking back, I’m proud of the ground we’ve covered together and the projects we’ve brought to life for our community.
Over the past year, Council has doubled down on rebuilding roads, enhancing community facilities and supporting local projects that make life better for everyone in Warren Shire. Work on key routes like RR202 Marthaguy Road and RR333 Carinda Road has progressed steadily, flood restoration continues on important access roads and major projects like the Levee Rehabilitation and Riverbank Rock Armouring are moving ahead to keep our community safer and more resilient.
We’ve recently joined forces with neighbouring Councils, Bogan and Coonamble, on the Country Heartline Project to give our rural communities new ways to thrive during tough times with agritourism initiatives that showcase the best our region has to offer.
It’s also been a pleasure to welcome new Australians to our community and celebrate milestones like the Warren CWA Centenary as they marked 100 years of service and dedication to farming families and the wider community.
Looking ahead, there’s plenty to be excited about. First up is the Tour de OROC which brings sport, fun and a real sense of community to Warren Shire at the start of next month for a great local cause.
We’re working together to keep our Shire safe, growing and full of opportunities and I’m proud to be part of it with all of you.
Greg Whiteley, Mayor
