Over the past month, we’ve been getting on with the job across Warren Shire — particularly on our roads, with crews continuing maintenance, flood recovery and safety works. It’s the kind of work that keeps people moving day to day.

It was great to see such a strong community response to improved local recycling in our Recycling Services Survey. Thanks to everyone who had their say. We’re looking forward to rolling out kerbside recycling to eligible properties across Warren, Nevertire and Collie later this year.

Our Draft 2026/2027 Operational Plan is now on public exhibition. If you’ve got a view, I encourage you to submit your feedback before 1 June 2026. I’m always happy to sit down with any ratepayer to talk through where we’ve been, where we’re at and where we’re heading over the next 12 months.

Council also put forward a submission to the Murray–Darling Basin Plan Review. We’ve worked hard to make sure our community’s voice is heard as part of that process and we’ll keep you updated as it progresses.

I know law and order remains front of mind for many people. Council continues to liaise closely with the local police and advocate for better outcomes for our community.

ANZAC Day was a great reminder of what this community is all about — people looking out for each other. It’s something we can all be proud of and something I look forward to continuing to see across the Shire.

Greg Whiteley, Mayor
