From the Mayor's Desk: February 2024

I was saddened to learn of the passing of Councillor Ron Higgins on Tuesday 16 January 2024.

On behalf of Council and our broader community, I would like to extend my sincere condolences to Cr. Higgins’ family, particularly his wife Helen and their three children Chris, Rebecca and Anthony.

Ron was a reliable and popular member of our Council and our community, and I know you will all join me in thanking him for his invaluable contribution to our Shire.

It has been a busy start to the year, with the 2024 Australia Day Awards allowing us to celebrate the achievements of many members of our community. I extend my thanks to all of our nominees and winners across all categories for their significant contributions.

January has also seen our crews working hard to progress all of the restoration and maintenance works planned across Warren Shire’s vast road network.
