From the Mayor's Desk: August 2026

One of the things I enjoy most about being Mayor is seeing months of planning and hard work turn into projects that make a real difference across Warren Shire.
From maintaining our roads and bridges to delivering library services, collecting waste, managing our water supply, caring for parks and public spaces and supporting community events, there's a dedicated team working behind the scenes to serve our community every day.
With this week marking Local Government Week, it's the perfect opportunity to recognise and thank them for their dedication to keeping Warren Shire a great place to live, work and visit.
I'm also grateful to Deputy Mayor Sarah Derrett and General Manager Gary Woodman for representing Council at recent discussions with government and community leaders to help strengthen opportunities for young people in our region. Strong partnerships like these are an important part of building a positive future for our community.
Just as important as advocating on behalf of our community is hearing directly from it. I invited everyone to take a look at the Council plans and documents currently on public exhibition and have your say before submissions close on 27 August 2026.
As a regional community, every person counts. The 2026 Census is another opportunity to help shape our future, with every response contributing to decisions about the services, infrastructure and funding our region needs for years to come. I encourage every household to take part and ensure Warren Shire is counted.
