From the Mayor's Desk: April 2024
04 April 2024
In the time since Warren Shire was impacted by five back-to-back flooding events between March 2021 and September 2022, Council has been working methodically through the complex process of funding and then repairing its damaged local roads.
Council is aware of the sub-optimal condition of some of our roads, and while some residents may be frustrated with the speed of progress, obtaining the appropriate funding is a complex process where we are required to work through several steps across all levels of governments.
As a result, the time from when the actual damage occurs to when the road is repaired, is often far lengthier than we would hope. You can read more about this issue on Council’s website.
I would also like to take this opportunity to acknowledge Council’s General Manager, Gary Woodman, on his three years of service.
Gary has led the operations of our Council with a steady and focused presence, and we are grateful for his strong and dedicated leadership.
