From the Mayor's Desk - November Council News
Water has started to recede across the Warren Shire, with a flood warning no longer current for the Macquarie River and several roads beginning to reopen to traffic with extreme caution.
Additionally, residents came out to support other flood-affected communities in Eugowra and Forbes at a Flood Relief Concert on Sunday 4 December 2022 at Victoria Park.
The Warren Shire community also commemorated Remembrance Day on the 11 November with a service at the Warren Cenotaph. It makes me incredibly proud to see people coming together on these occasions to pay their respects to all the brave men and women who have served in the line of duty.
With Christmas fast approaching, we enjoyed our Christmas Street Party on the evening of Friday 2 December and now look forward to the Twilight Race Meeting on Friday 16 December.
I also encourage embracing the festive spirit by participating with your street in the Santa Street competition or entering your business in the Best Dressed Shop Front competition.
These end of year events allow us to celebrate all that has been achieved during the last twelve months and reflect positively on the many challenges that have been presented and have at least been partially overcome in 2022.
Clr Milton Quigley
MAYOR
