From the Mayor's Desk - July Council News
The gateway to the Macquarie Marshes recently received a major upgrade, with the Burrima Boardwalk Access Road seal now officially complete. These works will have widespread benefits for our Shire, providing both a comfortable all-access road for residents and improved access to one of the most recognisable tourist attractions in our region.
In further upgrade news, Warren Shire's latest amenities are now open to the public in the Warren CBD and Lions Park, with the accompanying murals also expected for completion in July.
Recently, Council has been engaging with relevant stakeholders in light of the recent announcement of the closure of the local NAB bank branch. Myself and the General Manager have made contact with local MPs and the Shadow Minister for Regional NSW in hopes of retaining some form of banking services in Warren.
Finally, we were pleased to host Local Government NSW President, Cr Darriea Turley, and Chief Executive, Scott Phillips, on their recent visit to discuss matters of concern for our Shire.
Clr Milton Quigley
MAYOR
